PAI Agents

PAI Agents are AI specialized agents designed to assist with hardware design tasks. Whether you are engaged in RTL coding, debugging, verification, or performance optimization, PAI Agents can transform your hardware design process by providing expert guidance and automation.

How PAI Agents Work

To activate a PAI Agent within your RapidGPT workflow in VS Code:

1. Attach a PAI File: Add a PAI Agent file (with the .pai extension) as an attachment to your RapidGPT chat session.
2. Activation: The AI agent will automatically activate when you send your next message in the chat.

This streamlined process integrates advanced AI assistance directly into your development environment.

Workflow Automation

Beyond their role as domain experts, PAI Agents can execute structured workflows autonomously. Their task-oriented capabilities include:

• Guided Task Execution: Assisting with project-specific tasks by guiding you through each step.
• Command Execution Integration: Collaborating with command execution to make decisions based on your local machine and project context. This allows the agents to instruct you on which commands to run for optimal results.

Example: PAI Project Explorer Agent

One notable application is the Project Explorer Agent. This agent is designed to analyze and understand your open VS Code project by:

• Scanning the project structure.
• Identifying key components and potential areas for improvement.
• Providing actionable insights to enhance your workflow.
